Biking Pants Are A Warm Investment

It's a fact that most cyclists aren't just content bicycling when it's warm and sunny outside. This is especially true if they participate in any sort of competition. You have to be prepared for anything including changes in weather. That's where a pair of biking pants or, as some affectionately call them, cycling knickers come into play.

Mountain bike enthusiasts know the importance of this warmer wear quite well, as they most often have to bicycle in the tumultuous terrain of some forests and steep inclines. They face weather conditions on a regular basis that some road bicyclists don't often see. For this reason, they need to be even more prepared. Some even wear wooltights underneath their clothing in an effort to harness every last bit of warmth before it dissipates.

No matter what you decide to wear underneath (although bicycling shorts are strongly recommended), there are a few things you should look for before making a purchase. Even though it is meant to keep you warm, this specific piece of clothing also needs to wick moisture away from your skin. Keeping any sweat in close contact with your body will only make you feel even more cold and uncomfortable. For this reason, choose clothing that is specifically designed for bicycling. Buy at least one or two pairs so that you aren't left scrambling for this specific cycling apparel when winter weather finds you.
