Cruiser Bicycles: A Ride Through The Park

Cruiser bicycles, otherwise referred to as comfort bikes, have made cycling a pleasurable activity for those previously plagued by discomfort. Forget sore behinds and aching muscles. Based on a mountain bike frame, cruiser bikes are much easier on one's back when compared to road bikes. These bikes also allow for the rider to sit in a more upright position making any ride more enjoyable. Also, cruiser or comfort bikes have wider tires and easier to use handlebars.

No matter what one's age, they will enjoy riding a cruiser bike. Granted, it isn't designed for speed and it won't win you any major road races, but it will get you outside and get you moving. A comfort bike's smooth-riding tires will even allow you to do some gentle trail riding should you so desire. Remember though, that comfort or cruiser bikes were based on the designs of original mountain bikes and not the mountain bikes of today. You cannot do hard all-terrain riding with these bikes.

Another nice feature about comfort/cruiser bikes is that they usually look pretty neat. They usually have some sort of a design or unique coloring on them, making them sure to stand-out where ever you may ride. Be it by the beach or just along any old road, be prepared for a few great comments and lots of questions! People just can't seem to get enough of these types of bikes and once they see one, they'll want one too. Everyone will want to know where they can get such unique and comfortable bicycles all in one package.
